I have2 very active boys. Every weekend my husband and I try to find activities for them (to keep them away from the computer, psp, and TV). Our favorite spot, The University of the
Every Sunday, the main roads within the campus are closed down. Kids and adults take advantage of the massive space to jog, ride the bike, skate, have a picnic, or do whatever.
Big trees surround the campus making it comfortable even on high noon.
You can bring your pets (just the small ones). Big dogs are kind of off-limits in some areas.
Don’t worry about food:
- taho, mamang sorbetero, sari-sari stores are all over
- food chains are nearby (Philcoa – McDo, Jollibee, Greenwhich, Chowking, Magoo’s etc; Katipunan – McDo, Jollibee, Shakey’s, Starbucks, Kenny Roger’s, Pizza Hut, etc)
- or if you’re really lazy, you can have food delivered (like what we always do). Just identify the street and the nearest building from your spot and the delivery guy will find you.
UP campus is a great place for the family to spend the day. It’s not packed, and it’s FREE.
